[Saba Sports News] Italian media reports that Sampdoria is currently unable to register new players due to the club’s financial problems. Despite finishing seventh in Serie B last season, Sampdoria failed to advance in the promotion playoffs. The club had plans to strengthen its lineup with new signings this summer and has already signed four players. However, due to the club’s poor financial situation and ongoing debt restructuring, Sampdoria is temporarily prohibited from registering new players. If the financial issues are not resolved in time, these new players may not be able to represent Sampdoria, and in the worst-case scenario, they may have to return to their previous clubs. The situation is expected to be clarified during meetings held by the Italian Football Association, Serie A, Serie B, and Serie C on Thursday to discuss and explain this rule. Currently, Italian clubs undergoing debt restructuring face various financial risks and require approval for player signings.
