[Saba Sports News] India celebrated its 75th Republic Day on January 26, with the cricket community joining in to honor the day and acknowledge the efforts behind the Indian constitution.
MS Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni, shared a heartfelt reel on social media featuring Dhoni against the backdrop of the Indian flag, which quickly gained popularity. This post served as a reminder of Dhoni’s significant contributions to Indian cricket, including leading the team to three ICC titles and numerous other achievements.
Dhoni, who holds a special regard for the Indian army, was named an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army in 2011. He even actively served with his regiment in Jammu Kashmir for 15 days in July-August 2019, undertaking duties like patrolling and guarding.
Dhoni’s impactful leadership saw India clinching four major trophies within six years of his captaincy.
He guided India to victory in the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup, achieved the number one spot in ICC Test rankings in 2010, and played a pivotal role in India’s 2011 World Cup triumph, ending a 28-year wait. His leadership in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy further cemented his legacy.
Beyond international success, Dhoni also stands as one of the most successful captains in IPL history, with five titles. He is expected to play his final IPL season in the upcoming 2024 edition.
