[Saba Sports News] In a recent interview, F1 Mercedes team leader Toto Wolff expressed disappointment with the performance of young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Wolff stated that Antonelli’s performance has not been exceptional, which has led Mercedes-Benz to reconsider their initial plan to promote him. As a result, Carlos Sainz, who has been seeking a team, now has a chance to turn things around. Mercedes-Benz team leader Wolff confirmed this by saying, “We have had discussions with Sainz and even discussed the terms of an agreement. However, we have decided to delay confirming our choice until autumn, and until then, we will continue with various evaluations.” It is worth noting that the Mercedes-Benz team is considered one of the most competitive teams in F1, boasting a strong technical team and abundant resources. Joining the Mercedes-Benz team would provide Sainz with better cars and more competitive opportunities, enabling him to achieve better results in F1.
