Sports News] Following the passing of Akira Toriyama, the creator of
“Dragon Ball,” former Manchester City and Barcelona player Joan Roman
has made a public announcement on social media stating his decision to change
his name to Goku. The 30-year-old Roman played for Manchester City’s youth team
from 2009 to 2012 and went on to make 70 appearances for Atletico Barcelona
between 2012 and 2015, scoring 9 goals. He has since played for various teams
including Villarreal, Braga, Madeira Nacional, and is currently part of Krakow
Wisła, a Polish second-tier league team. Román expressed his gratitude for the
experiences associated with the name Juan but stated that he now identifies
with the values represented by Goku, such as perseverance, empathy, growth in
the face of difficulties, brightness, and positivity. It is worth noting that
Toriyama’s comics have had a profound impact on the personal growth of many
individuals.
