Sports News] Colombian international James Rodriguez, who joined Sao Paulo in
Brazil this summer, recently discussed his experience playing football in the
Middle East during a media interview. James Rodriguez, the Colombian
international who joined Sao Paulo in Brazil this summer, shared his previous
experience of playing football in the Middle East in a recent interview. He
mentioned that although he had a good life while playing for the club, he
struggled to adapt to the local living habits, which eventually led him to
leave Alrayan after just one year. Rodriguez explained that certain customs,
such as not being able to undress when taking a shower after a game and the
tradition of eating with hands, posed challenges for him. Since he had the
habit of eating with utensils, he found it difficult to adjust. Eventually, he
negotiated with the club to terminate his contract. In July 2023, Rodriguez
joined Sao Paulo on a free transfer, signing a contract until June 2025. Sao
Paulo became the 10th club that Rodriguez has played for in his career. He has
previously expressed his intention to retire in Brazil, concluding his playing
career there.
