[Saba Sports News] Renowned Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant recently made an appearance at the Delhi Capitals’ training session held at Jadavpur University’s grounds in Kolkata. Footage from the visit showed Pant engaging in conversations with the team and support staff.
Significantly, Pant was observed walking unaided, a positive sign for supporters following his recovery from a severe car accident in December 2022, which sidelined him for the year, causing him to miss several key events including the 16th IPL season, Asia Cup 2023, and the current ODI World Cup in India.
While there’s yet to be a definitive update on Pant’s comeback to the Indian squad, his crutch-free mobility is a hopeful indicator for fans. Pant is dedicated to his rehabilitation, recently utilizing a NASA-developed anti-gravity treadmill to build his strength.
In further encouraging news, Pant has resumed batting practice and even participated in a match at the NCA in Bangalore in August 2023. Despite his rapid recovery, reports suggest the BCCI is proceeding with caution regarding his return to competitive cricket, insisting on a full recovery before considering him for selection again.
