[Saba Sports News] Italian media reports
indicate that before Napoli’s home match against Union Berlin in the Champions
League group stage, a number of extremist Union Berlin fans incited riots in
the streets of Naples, resulting in confrontations with the local police. On
Tuesday, under police escort, Union Berlin fans marched through the streets of
Naples. However, when they reached Piazza Dante, dozens of extremist fans from
Union Berlin began causing trouble and engaging in clashes with the police. It
has been reported that some of these fans launched fireworks and threw Molotov
cocktails at the Naples police. Eventually, the police managed to regain
control of the situation. During the clashes, some shops were vandalised by the
fans, and several police officers sustained injuries. The Naples police also
made arrests of several individuals involved in the disturbances.
