[Saba Sports News] During an IPL 2024 practice session, Rinku Singh was fully immersed in his batting practice and unintentionally hit a six that struck a young cricketer watching near the boundary of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ practice area. Reacting promptly, Rinku met with the boy post-session to check on him and express his concern over the mishap.
Accompanied by KKR’s batting coach, Abhishek Nayar, Rinku gifted the boy a KKR cap, autographed it as a gesture of goodwill, and apologized for the accident. Rinku, a vital player for KKR in the previous IPL season, leveraged his opportunity to play a full season effectively, establishing himself as a reliable finisher.
His impressive performance in IPL 2023 not only brought him fame but also led to his inclusion in the Indian cricket team, where he continued his remarkable form, scoring 356 runs in 15 matches. His success on South African pitches has been particularly notable, showcasing his skills under challenging conditions.
With the ICC T20 World Cup approaching and India in search of a robust finisher following their previous T20I campaigns, Rinku’s ongoing form in the IPL could solidify his position in India’s squad for the tournament, especially with all eyes turning to the major event after May. The 26-year-old’s continued success in IPL 2024 might well secure his spot for the upcoming world cup games.
