[Saba Sports News] After a successful streak of winning their last six games, the Phoenix Suns are now considering a potentially controversial move. Suns beat writer Gerald Bourguet reported that the team is interested in acquiring Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, with the NBA trade deadline just over two weeks away, set for February 8.
Bridges, 25, has displayed impressive talent this season, averaging a career-high 20.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. He is known for his dynamic play and scoring ability in both forward positions.
However, Bridges’ off-court issues cast a shadow over his on-court skills. He was arrested in June 2022 on felony domestic violence charges, avoiding jail time by pleading no contest. This led to a 30-game suspension by the NBA. Additionally, he faced another arrest in October for allegedly violating a protective order related to the initial case.
The Suns, currently with a 25-18 record and ranking fifth in the Western Conference after winning 11 of their last 14 games, might face scrutiny for considering a player like Bridges, given his legal issues. Despite this, the Hornets seem open to trades, having recently completed a significant one, making Bridges a potential, albeit controversial, acquisition for the Suns.
