[Saba Sports News] In the remarkable 2023 season,
the Red Bull F1 team achieved unprecedented success, securing 21 victories out
of 22 races. With a total of 860 points, they shattered the previous record of
765 points set by the Mercedes team in 2016. According to the “Concorde
Agreement,” the FIA determines the entry fee for the new season based on
the team’s total points from the previous year. Considering inflation, the base
FIA entry fee for 2024 stands at $657,800, with a fee of $6,575 per point and
an additional manufacturer championship fee of $7,893. Consequently, due to
their high points from the previous season, Red Bull Racing is required to pay
a substantial fee of $7,445,817 to the FIA. In contrast, Mercedes, who ranked
second in points, only paid $3.347 million. Fortunately, this cost is not considered
part of the annual budget cap. Some fans believe that this amount is relatively
insignificant for the financially well-endowed Red Bull Racing team, who could
potentially recoup the expense through new sponsorships.
