[Saba Sports News] Red Bull F1 Team has revealed its RB20 car for the
2024 season. All 10 Formula 1 teams have now released their new cars for the
upcoming season. The true performance and characteristics of each car will be
unveiled during the Bahrain winter test at the end of February. In recent news,
it has been reported that Red Bull will employ two different sidepod designs
for this season. The forward-extending design, pioneered by Red Bull Racing and
adopted by several teams, will undergo an innovative change. Instead of
extending below the engine inlet, Red Bull will introduce a forward-extending
design above the engine inlet. This new configuration will be utilized during
the hotter race stations at the start of the season, including the pre-season test
race, Bahrain Grand Prix, Australian Grand Prix, and Saudi Grand Prix. However,
starting from the Japanese Grand Prix in April, when the races enter
lower-temperature stations with reduced heat dissipation requirements, Red Bull
Racing will switch to a zero-sidepod design similar to that used by the
Mercedes Racing Team. The zero-sidepod design, which was introduced by Mercedes
in the 2022 season, aims to achieve greater downforce by minimizing the body
size and increasing the surface area of the floor in the new ground effect era.
The performance and impact of Red Bull Racing’s new designs will be closely
observed throughout the season.
