[Saba Sports News] The group stage of the
European Conference League is set to begin this week, with Premier League team
Aston Villa traveling to Poland to face Polish Premier League team Legia
Warsaw. However, an interesting detail is that Aston Villa will be donning
jerseys without any advertising on the chest for this particular round. This is
because Polish laws and regulations prohibit the display of advertisements from
most betting websites, coinciding with the fact that the betting agency
featured on Aston Villa’s jersey falls under this category. Consequently, Villa
have opted to wear jerseys with blank chests to comply with the regulations. In
recent times, the Premier League has also started to restrict the presence of
gambling institutions on jersey sponsorships, although there are no current
regulations prohibiting their appearance on the sleeves or back of the jerseys.
