Sports News] In Real Madrid’s 4-2 victory over Osasuna, their player Vinicius
Junior was subjected to abuse from the home team fans. Real Madrid recently
announced that the club has filed a complaint with the Spanish Football
Federation’s Disciplinary Committee, alleging that the referee, Juan Martínez
Munuera, subjectively and deliberately omitted recording the incident in the
match report. Real Madrid stated in their announcement that despite their
players making multiple statements and protests to the referee at the time of
the incident, the referee intentionally ignored it. Furthermore, Real Madrid
has also reported the insults to the appropriate authorities, forwarding the
matter to the National Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia, and
Zero Tolerance in Sport. The objective is to identify and punish those
responsible for the offensive behavior. Real Madrid strongly condemns these
acts of racism, discrimination, and hatred, emphasizing the need for all
necessary measures to be taken to eradicate violence against their player
Vinicius. This action by Real Madrid highlights their commitment to addressing
incidents of discrimination and advocating for player welfare. The club’s
complaint seeks to hold the referee accountable for what they perceive as a
failure to address the issue appropriately during the match. The outcome of the
complaint will be determined by the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary
Committee.
