[Saba Sports News] The ODI World Cup 2023 is underway, with New Zealand and hosts India both unbeaten in the tournament’s early stages.
However, their winning streaks are set to be tested as they face each other in game 21 at Dharamshala’s HPCA Stadium. Former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri shared a piece of advice from former captain MS Dhoni, who believed that losing one group stage game could be beneficial for tournament preparation.
“In 2011, India lost one league game to New Zealand but went on to win the World Cup. MS Dhoni, when he was captain, once said, ‘Sometimes in the league format of the World Cup, it’s good to lose one game because you don’t want to be caught off guard in a crucial knockout match,'” Shastri revealed.
Team India has been in excellent form, winning all four of their ODI World Cup 2023 matches against Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Led by Rohit Sharma, they aim to continue their impressive run as they face the Black Caps, making the game in Dharamshala an exciting contest to watch.
