[Saba Sports News] Dan Bethell, a 28-year-old from Bath, UK, who has cerebral palsy, felt he was “terrible” when he first started playing badminton and thought his dream of participating in the Paralympics would “never come true.” However, through continuous effort, Dan Bethell became a professional badminton player, competing in the badminton events at both the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and the Paris 2024 Paralympics, where he achieved excellent results by winning silver medals. Recently, Dan Bethell returned to the University of Bristol and gave a speech thanking the coaches and staff who supported him during his academic research. He stated that the University of Bristol plays an important role in his life story. It was here that he truly understood what it means to be an excellent athlete, and he hopes to inspire others through his efforts, expressing excitement at being a role model for their learning. Currently, Dan Bethell is training in badminton at the University of Bath, with the goal of participating in the Los Angeles Paralympics in four years and hoping to win a gold medal in badminton.
