[Saba Sports News] In response to the controversial
offside decision that disallowed Liverpool’s valid goal in the previous round
of the league, the Premier League officials and the English Referees Company
(PGMOL) have made the decision to introduce reforms. As part of these reforms,
they will regularly make available the live audio recordings of on-field
referees and VAR referees to the public. In collaboration with Sky Sports and
the TNT Sports Platform, a new program called “Referee, Please Turn on the
Mic!” has been developed and will soon be broadcasted to audiences in the
UK and worldwide. The program will feature Howard Webb, the head of the English
Referee Company, joining legendary star Michael James Owen in the studio to
analyse matches using previously undisclosed conversations between on-field
referees and VAR referees. This initiative aims to provide fans with a deeper
understanding of the decision-making process employed by the referees.
