[Saba Sports News] According to a report by the
“Daily Mail,” it has been suggested that the Premier League
pre-season games for the next year could potentially be organised in Asian
countries. Historically, the Premier League has held competitions in Asia every
two years, known as the Premier League Asia Trophy, from 2003 to 2019. However,
these events were halted due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is
unlikely that China will host the upcoming Premier League pre-season games due
to conflicts with the new Club World Cup scheduled to be hosted by the United
States. In the past, they successfully organised pre-season games in Beijing
and Shanghai in 2009 and 2019, which were warmly received by Chinese fans. As a
result, the Premier League has been actively seeking opportunities to return to
China and host games in the future.
