[Saba Sports News] Recent reports from British media
suggest that the Premier League’s top management has discussed a proposal to
provide subsidies to the police amounting to more than £10 million. The purpose
of this funding would be to support the police in ensuring the safety of
spectators and communities during football matches. However, this proposal has
sparked controversy among many members due to the fact that the police force is
a public service, and the Premier League already contributes substantial tax
revenue to the British government each year. Despite opposition from senior
members, it is expected that the plan will be approved as management believes
that any additional investment in an overstretched police force would be
beneficial.
