Sports News] British media reports indicate that Phil Jones, during his tenure
at Manchester United, earned millions of pounds solely from the sale of his
image rights. It is reported that Jones accumulated a substantial income of
£4.2 million from his image rights while representing Manchester United. In 2011,
Jones joined Manchester United from Blackburn Rovers for a transfer fee of £16
million. Despite signing a four-and-a-half-year contract under the management
of Sir Alex Ferguson in February 2019, Jones was plagued by numerous injury
issues, limiting him to only 16 appearances. To his credit, Jones worked
diligently to maintain his physical fitness before the arrival of Erik ten Hag.
However, persistent knee problems hindered his progress, and the former England
international did not make a single appearance during the 2022-23 season. Last
year, at the age of 31, Jones left Manchester United as a free agent when his
contract expired in June.
