[Saba Sports News] Less than a week after a concerning knee injury, Paul George is reassuring fans not to worry.
On his show “Podcast P,” the new Philadelphia 76ers star provided an update on his left knee, saying he’s “good” and doesn’t expect to be out for long.
“It wasn’t anything major,” George explained. “No ligament or tendon damage, just bone on bone bruising from a hyperextension.”
George is hopeful for a quick return, adding, “I should be back sooner than later, it won’t be a long timetable.”
The nine-time All-Star was injured during Monday’s preseason game against the Hawks when his left knee awkwardly twisted on a defensive play.
While George didn’t return to the game, the diagnosis of a hyperextension was positive news. Having dealt with a similar injury to his other knee with the Clippers that ended his season, George’s confidence in a quick recovery is a good sign for the 76ers, although he may still miss the season opener on Oct. 23 against Milwaukee.
