[Saba Sports News] Pakistan’s T20I series against the Netherlands, originally set for May 2024, has been indefinitely postponed. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) requested the postponement to the Netherlands Cricket Board (KNCB) due to a packed cricket calendar. This series was intended as a follow-up to Pakistan’s CWC Super League series in Rotterdam in 2022.
The three-match T20I series, planned for early May next year, faced scheduling conflicts as Pakistan is due to tour Ireland and England shortly after hosting New Zealand in April. The tight scheduling left little room for the team to travel to the Netherlands.
KNCB High Performance Manager Roland Lefebrve expressed disappointment but understanding of the situation. He remains hopeful for rescheduling the series, either at home or away. “We’re obviously disappointed but of course we understand the situation, and remain optimistic a new window will be found to play the series,” Lefebrve commented.
In other news, Pakistan is looking to recover from a disappointing World Cup performance in India, where they won only four of nine matches, missing the knockout stage. The team is now gearing up for a two-match Test series against Australia starting December 14 in Perth, under the new leadership of Shan Masood, following Babar Azam’s resignation. With their World Cup setbacks behind them, Pakistan aims for a strong showing against the formidable Australian squad.
