Sports News] In the recently concluded Super 300 Series Thailand Masters
Women’s Singles Finals, Japanese women’s singles player Aya Ohori engaged in a
fierce battle against Thai local player Supanida Katethong for an hour and a
half. Ultimately, Ohori staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Katethong and
claim the championship, ending a five-year title drought. Overwhelmed with
emotions, she was moved to tears upon winning, and her father, who was present,
rushed onto the court to congratulate her. Ohori represents Team A of the
Japanese national badminton team and hails from a family deeply rooted in the
sport. Her father, mother, and sister are all renowned figures in the badminton
world. Ohori has been dubbed the “most beautiful badminton goddess in
Asia” by the media due to her charming appearance. She gained recognition
at a young age, showcasing her talent by winning the Japan National Elementary
Badminton Championship during her time in elementary school and the Japan
National Junior High School Badminton Championship in junior high school.
Despite facing setbacks and being dropped from the Japan national badminton
team A team, Ohori has made a comeback this year, breaking her five-year
championship drought. Additionally, she has accumulated enough Olympic points
to secure qualification for the upcoming Olympics.
