[Saba Sports News] During the Super 1000 Series
Malaysia Badminton Open, Malaysian rising star Ng Tze Yong suffered a back
muscle tear, which has been diagnosed as a new injury related to the
intervertebral disc. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined,
pending further examination. However, it has been confirmed that Ng Tze Yong
will not participate in the Super 300 Series German Open next week. It is
uncertain whether he will be able to compete in the French Open and All England
Open in October, which could potentially impact his Olympic qualification. The
French and All England Opens carry significant weight in terms of ranking
points. Some speculate that Ng Tze Yong may choose to skip these tournaments to
preserve his chances. There are fans who believe that Yong’s previous emphasis
on improving his physical fitness may have contributed to these injuries as a
result of overtraining. However, Malaysia’s head coach, Rexy Mainaky, denied
this claim, stating that Ng Tze Yong has not been undergoing six hours of daily
specialized training. Yong has been absent from training since the Malaysian
Open.
