Sports News] The International Automobile Federation has announced that Aston
Martin’s new Vantage will serve as the official safety car for Formula 1,
making its debut at the upcoming Saudi Grand Prix in 2024. The safety car has
undergone modifications, including an enhanced bottom aerodynamic package and
an extended front splitter, to increase downforce. A specially designed
adjustable-angle spoiler has been installed at the rear of the vehicle, and
even the FIA light bar features a new aerodynamic design. Powering the safety
car is a handcrafted 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, generating a
maximum power output of 665 horsepower and a peak torque of 800 Nm. This
represents a 30% increase in power compared to its predecessor. The car is
equipped with an 8-speed automatic manual gearbox and features launch control,
enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, with a top
speed of 325 km/h. These enhancements ensure that the new Vantage F1 official safety
car delivers exceptional performance on the track, as it leads the F1 cars that
are highly sensitive to tire temperature. Every millisecond is crucial for
them.
