[Saba Sports News] Sandro Tonali, a prominent player of Newcastle
United, is currently under investigation by the Turin Prosecutor’s Office in
Italy for his alleged participation in illegal football betting. Piero Filippo
Capello, a well-known expert in Italian sports justice, stated that if Tonali
is ultimately found guilty, Newcastle United could potentially seek
compensation from the player due to his concealment of illegal activities from
the club. However, it would be challenging to pursue a claim against AC Milan
since there is no evidence to suggest that the club was aware of this matter.
In the event of a long-term suspension, Newcastle United may even terminate
Tonali’s contract. Tonali joined Newcastle United from AC Milan during the
summer transfer window for a transfer fee of 64 million euros.
