[Saba Sports News] Keylor Navas, a former
goalkeeper for Real Madrid in La Liga and currently playing for Paris
Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, recently revealed in an interview with the media that
he expressed his willingness to return to Real Madrid when Thibaut Courtois
suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury this season. However, Real Madrid
ultimately chose Kepa as their goalkeeper. Navas had joined Real Madrid in
August 2014 and had a successful five-year stint with the club, winning three
UEFA Champions League titles, four Club World Cup championships, and one La
Liga championship. In September 2019, Navas moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a
transfer fee of 13.5 million euros. The editor believes that the primary reason
Real Madrid did not choose Navas as their goalkeeper again is his age, as he is
already 37 years old. Additionally, Navas’ recent injury history and the club’s
desire to secure a capable and young goalkeeper likely factored into their
decision.
