Sports News] Recently, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) released the latest
news on its official website. According to the news, the BWF has announced the
suspension of the Russian Badminton Association’s qualifications. This action
was taken because it was discovered that the National Badminton Federation of
Russia (NBFR) had violated its membership conditions. The Russian Badminton
Association included the “Donetsk People’s Republic”, “Luhansk
People’s Republic”, Zaporizhia Oblast, and Kherson Oblast Badminton
Associations as its members without proper authorization, which led to the
suspension of their qualification. It is important to note that the Badminton
World Federation still allows athletes holding Russian passports to participate
in its competitions independently, without any blanket restrictions. In
response, NBFR has raised objections and stated that they will utilize all
legal means to demonstrate the unfairness of this decision.
