Sports News] Recently, the World Endurance Championship (WEC) released its team
driver list, which included Mick Schumacher, the substitute driver for the F1
Mercedes-Benz team. Mick will be representing the Alpine team in the WEC. This
news sparked considerable discussion in the media. Mick addressed the matter in
a recent interview, explaining his decision to participate in the WEC on a
full-time basis. He stated, “For me personally, WEC is a competition that
has the least scheduling conflicts with my work in F1 and provides a high level
of professionalism. Ultimately, it was an easy decision for me to accept this
challenge.” As a result, Mick has made the choice to forgo participating
in the 2024 Indycar and Japanese Super Formula races. Mick, the son of
seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher, was born in 1999 and emerged
from the Ferrari youth training program. In 2022, he officially announced his
role as a substitute driver for the Mercedes-Benz team.
