[Saba Sports News] Seventeen-year-old Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Zeeshan has made a remarkable impact in the 2023 Under-19 Asia Cup, claiming ten wickets in just two matches.
Standing at six-foot-eight, Zeeshan showcased his talent in Pakistan’s opening game against Nepal with an impressive 6-19 figure. In a match against India, he further cemented his reputation by taking 4-46, including key wickets of top Indian talents.
Hailing from a village near Faisalabad, Zeeshan, the youngest of three brothers, was encouraged into cricket by his elder brother. His height, while advantageous in bowling, poses challenges in finding suitable cricket gear and dealing with long flights.
Before the Asia Cup, Zeeshan participated in national under-19 tournaments and was a reserve in the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. He debuted in senior cricket at 15 in the Pakistan Cup and excelled in the Pakistan Junior League, leading to his selection for the Pakistan Under-19s against Bangladesh.
His recent performances in the Asia Cup are a promising sign for Pakistan’s future in pace bowling.
