[Saba Sports News] Following French star Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at La Liga Real Madrid, his No. 9 jersey quickly hit the shelves of stores around the club. The previous owner of the No. 9 jersey was Karim Benzema, who left the team in 2023, leaving the number vacant for a season. Recently, media outlets discovered that Mbappe’s father, Wilfried Mbappe, visited a local Real Madrid merchandise store in Madrid. He purchased over a hundred jerseys of his son in one go, capturing the attention of fans present. Wilfried, a former football player who played in the regional league, later became a physical education teacher after retiring from the sport. He played a significant role in Mbappe‘s football career, serving as his first coach and agent, providing guidance in sporting matters. In 2017, when Barcelona attempted to sign Mbappe, Wilfried mentioned that he himself was a Barcelona fan, but his son favored Real Madrid.
