[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United inquired with Manchester City about the possibility of hitching a ride on their charter flight for Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo to attend the Ballon d’Or award ceremony together with City players. However, Manchester City informed United that the flight was already fully booked and declined the request. Reports indicate that Manchester City has rented a plane to fly to the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday night. United’s Garnacho and Mainoo are candidates for the Kopa Trophy, prompting United to ask City if these two players could join them on the flight. City politely declined this request due to lack of available seats, as eight City players are also attending the ceremony. It is worth mentioning that Manchester United’s co-owner James Ratcliffe has focused on reducing team costs since taking office; this year, United has laid off about 250 employees and recently terminated their ambassador contract with Sir Alex Ferguson. It remains to be seen how United fans will react to this situation.
