[Saba Sports News] Luka Doncic, one of the NBA’s top players, took a different path to the league, bypassing college to play professionally overseas before being drafted third overall in 2018. But if he had gone to college, which school would he have chosen? In a video posted by Overtime, Doncic was asked this very question.
After a moment of thought, Doncic responded, “Arizona. They say it’s good there.” Arizona is known for producing NBA talent, with alumni like Deandre Ayton, Steve Kerr, and Andre Iguodala.
Fellow NBA stars Zion Williamson, Paolo Banchero, and Jayson Tatum had their own opinions. Tatum agreed with Doncic, but Williamson suggested Southern California, Texas A&M, or Florida, while Banchero thought, “He’s got Duke written all over him,” even recalling how Coach K frequently praised Doncic during his recruitment.
Though Doncic never attended college, the question sparked some fun speculation among NBA fans.
