[Saba Sports News] Singaporean badminton star Loh Kean Yew announced the joyful news of becoming a father through social media. The photo shows Loh Kean Yew holding his newborn baby with a happy smile on his face. Records indicate that Loh Kean Yew and his wife, Tan Wei Han, registered their marriage in 2022, held their wedding in 2023, and welcomed their baby in 2024, marking significant milestones each year. In the men’s singles badminton event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Loh Kean Yew lost to eventual champion Viktor Axelsen in the quarterfinals. Although he didn’t win a medal, reaching the top eight marked his best personal Olympic performance. Surprisingly, Loh Kean Yew was born in Malaysia and was the under-12 badminton champion in the country. At the age of 13, he moved to Singapore to study at the Singapore Sports School and later obtained Singaporean citizenship, representing Singapore in competitions. Loh Kean Yew first caught the attention of fans in 2019 when he defeated Lin Dan in straight sets to win the men’s singles title at the Thailand Masters.
