[Saba Sports News] Shortly after the conclusion of the Malaysian Badminton Open, Malaysian badminton player Lee Zii Jia announced his participation in the upcoming Singapore Badminton Open. However, surprisingly, just before the event, Lee Zii Jia made the decision to withdraw. He cited physical fatigue from the previous tournament as the reason, stating that even though he had arrived in Singapore, he couldn’t shake off the exhaustion. In order to regain strength for the Indonesia Masters scheduled for next week, he had no choice but to withdraw from the Singapore event. It’s worth noting that Lee Zii Jia’s withdrawal was due to a hamstring injury. Consequently, his Indonesian opponent Anthony received a walkover, advancing directly to the top 16 to face another Malaysian men’s singles player, Leong Jun Hao. Apart from Lee Zii Jia, former Thai women’s singles world champion Ratchanok Intanon also withdrew from the competition due to an arm injury. The recent demanding schedule seems to have caused varying levels of fatigue and injuries among the players.
