[Saba Sports News] Amid the recently concluded Indonesian Badminton Open, the Chinese badminton team emerged as the overwhelming winner, while all participating Malaysian badminton players failed to reach the top eight. In a recent interview, Malaysian badminton legend Lee Chong Wei addressed this matter and provided valuable advice to the younger players. Lee Chong Wei believes that with approximately a month left before the Paris Olympics, it is unrealistic to expect significant improvements in new tactics or skills. Instead, he emphasizes the importance of psychological preparation. He stated, “Players must maintain a sharp mental focus and avoid letting emotions unduly affect their mindset. Therefore, they need to prepare not only physically but also mentally. Even if they win the Indonesia Open, this mindset will ensure they can also win at the Olympics.” As a renowned badminton player with numerous illustrious achievements, including holding the world number one ranking for a record of 349 weeks, Lee Chong Wei’s words carry weight. He is also the first badminton player to reach the men’s singles finals in three consecutive Olympic Games.
