[Saba Sports News] Hong Kong Chinese badminton player Lee Cheuk Yiu recently arrived in Paris, France, where he will be participating in the upcoming badminton events. However, his experience in Paris left him feeling uncomfortable. Despite being aware that the Olympic Village lacks air conditioning, Lee was surprised to find that even the buses didn’t have it. He expressed his dissatisfaction on social media by posting a photo of himself without a shirt and captioned it with: “It’s so environmentally friendly. The buses going to the stadium don’t have air conditioning.” The Paris Olympics in France focuses on green initiatives, environmental protection, and sustainability. As a result, air conditioning units were not installed in the Olympic Village, and participating delegations were expected to bring their own. This decision has sparked discussions in various foreign media outlets. Considering the potential impact on athletes’ well-being and performance, the editor believes that providing air conditioning is crucial and should not compromise the athletes’ interests for the sake of environmental protection.
