[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers may be looking to acquire a familiar adversary. Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reports that the Lakers showed interest in Toronto Raptors swingman Bruce Brown last season and continue to pursue him this offseason.
Brown, a likely trade asset for the rebuilding Raptors, has a $23 million team option for next season, making him a valuable expiring contract. He averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game last year, known for his versatility, 3-and-D skills, and rebounding prowess despite being 6-foot-4.
The Lakers are well-acquainted with Brown’s game from his time with the 2023 NBA champion Denver Nuggets, who swept the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
During that series, Brown notably clashed with Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell. Interestingly, Russell, with his $18.7 million expiring contract, might be part of a potential trade for Brown. Despite this, the Lakers remain keen on adding Brown to their roster.
