[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers may be searching for a trade bargain.
Reports show the Lakers have shown interest in Charlotte Hornets center Nick Richards, joining other NBA teams inquiring about the 26-year-old.
This follows a report from Shams Charania stating the Lakers are looking to upgrade at center.
Richards, a seven-footer known for his energy, averaged 9.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and shot 69.1% last season, thanks to his 7-foot-4 wingspan.
With a contract of just $5 million per season for the next two years, Richards could be an affordable option. The Lakers’ need for depth at center is urgent, especially with Jaxson Hayes’s limitations and both Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood sidelined.
