[Saba Sports News] The ODI World Cup 2023 is approaching quickly, starting on October 5, hosted entirely in India. Fans worldwide are focused on Team India’s efforts to break their ICC title drought and potentially win the tournament after more than 12 years.
Star Indian batsman KL Rahul is diligently honing his wicket-keeping skills as he prepares for the competition. In a widely circulated image on social media, the 31-year-old is seen practicing with a tire placed in front of the stumps to further challenge his vision.
Rahul’s form is crucial for India in the upcoming World Cup. He had suffered an injury during the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023, sidelining him for several months.
Despite this setback, he made a remarkable comeback, scoring a brilliant century against Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023. With his inclusion in Team India’s World Cup squad, Rahul is determined to deliver exceptional performances in their pursuit of victory.
Team India will kick off their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Currently, the team is participating in warm-up matches to prepare for the tournament. Unfortunately, their first warm-up match against England on September 30 was abandoned due to rain.
Before officially beginning their World Cup journey, India will face the Netherlands in their final warm-up game on Tuesday, October 3.
