[Saba Sports News] Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant expressed discontent with remarks made by his ex-teammate, Andre Iguodala. On Iguodala’s “Point Forward” podcast with Evan Turner, Iguodala identified what he considered Durant’s single weakness, unrelated to his basketball skills.
Iguodala claimed, “KD’s only flaw is that he doesn’t lift weights. That’s the only thing.” This was accompanied by a discussion on how Durant’s avoidance of weightlifting is both a drawback and a key to his success.
Despite Iguodala later admiring Durant’s workout as “one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen,” Durant seemed irked by the initial comment. He reposted the clip with a message suggesting Iguodala was fabricating this “only flaw,” writing, “Now I don’t lift weights, aight man….. these boys say anything on these podcasts.”
Durant and Iguodala played together for three seasons with the Warriors, presumably enough time to observe each other’s training habits. Durant seemed keen to clarify that his slender build isn’t due to lack of effort.
Known for being relatively lean for an NBA player, Durant’s physique hasn’t hindered his performance. His exceptional skills and length have established him as a dominant force in the game. At 35, Durant continues to excel, averaging 30.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 20 games this season, shooting an impressive 52%.
