[Saba Sports News] On December 2, former Japanese badminton world
champion Kento Momota held a fans meeting at the Harblife Japan Experience
Center in Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, where 60 lucky fans had the opportunity to
attend. During the event, Momota actively engaged with fans, answering their
questions and taking photos with them. There was also a lucky draw held as part
of the meeting. Momota Kento shared that in 2020, he was involved in a car
accident in Malaysia and subsequently contracted the new coronavirus. He
underwent a recovery period and faced challenges in his physical condition.
However, he adopted a new training method, focusing on strengthening his core
muscles. Through this approach, he gradually recovered from his waist injury,
leading to more stable competition results. Eventually, he won the championship
at the Korean Masters, ending a two-year championship drought since 2021.
Momota expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement he received from
fans, stating that it made him feel that he was not alone in his struggles. He
sincerely thanked everyone for their support. Currently, Momota is diligently
preparing for the All Japan Players Rights Conference, which will take place on
December 25, with the aim of defending his title.
