[Saba Sports News] After Japanese badminton legend Kento Momota announced his retirement some time ago, he returned to Japan. Upon his return, he announced his new journey to promote badminton in the country. Recently, media outlets spotted Momota at a domestic badminton match where he had taken on the role of mentor for his junior, Tanaka Yushi. He guided Tanaka Yushi during the game, and Tanaka Yushi exceeded expectations by reaching the finals and defeating Koga Minoru to win the championship. Momota has achieved numerous honors in the Japanese badminton world, including winning the 2014 Thomas Cup, the 2018 and 2019 World Championships, and holding the Guinness World Record for 11 championships in a single season. Despite being involved in a car accident in Malaysia in 2020, which led to a decline in his condition, he had to retire this year.
