[Saba Sports News] Former Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal, known for his attacking style and reliability behind the stumps, is set to enhance his cricketing journey by participating in a Level One Coaching Course. Scheduled from December 11 to 14 at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta, this program will involve 27 participants, including Akmal, who is also a current consultant member of the selection committee.
The four-day course aims to develop fundamental coaching skills, covering communication, coaching philosophy, and planning. It will be led by Tutors Imran Abbas, Rahat Abbas, Taimur Azam, and Balochistan’s Level one tutors Amanullah Deepal and Hussain Khosha. Participants will receive post-course assignments, leading to Level One coaching certification upon successful completion.
Kamran Akmal’s cricketing prowess, particularly his devastating batting and competent wicketkeeping, made him a standout player globally. He is remembered for his memorable century against India in 2006, where he scored 113 runs at a critical juncture, contributing to Pakistan’s significant victory.
In his international career, Akmal played 53 Tests, scoring 2648 runs, 157 ODIs with 3236 runs, and 58 T20 Internationals amassing 987 runs. His recent involvement in franchise cricket and active presence on a YouTube channel discussing cricket highlights his ongoing connection to the sport. His entry into coaching could mark a new chapter in his cricketing career.
