[Saba Sports News] Mainz’s new player, Japanese international Kaishu Sano, has been arrested in Tokyo on suspicion of sexual assault. According to reports, Sano and two other men allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel in Tokyo’s Bunkyo District. The incident occurred in the early hours of July 14. The woman promptly reported the assault to the police, leading to the arrest of Sano and the other individuals involved. The Mainz club has chosen not to comment on the situation as the Japanese judicial authorities have not disclosed any details. Sano was scheduled to begin training for the new season with Mainz on June 21 but is unlikely to be able to do so now. The 23-year-old midfielder joined Mainz from Kashima Antlers for a transfer fee of 2.5 million euros during this year’s summer transfer window.
