[Saba Sports News] On Friday, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey faced queries regarding the recent allegations against him, though he offered limited comment. Online accusations emerged this week, suggesting Giddey might have been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Evidence alleged in these claims includes various videos and images from social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, indicating Giddey’s involvement with a high school student under 18.
The NBA, through spokesman Mike Bass, has acknowledged these accusations and is conducting an investigation. When approached about these allegations post-practice, Giddey said, “I understand the question obviously, but there’s no further comment right now.” Similarly, Thunder’s head coach Mark Daigneault, when asked about the situation, also chose not to comment.
Giddey, 21 and originally from Australia, has been a key player for the Thunder. Chosen as the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, he has been versatile on the court, averaging 14.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game across three seasons. The Thunder, currently with an impressive 11-4 record and second in the Western Conference, face these allegations against Giddey as a significant concern, especially considering his contract runs through 2025 before he becomes eligible for restricted free agency.
