[Saba Sports News] The Philadelphia 76ers are focusing on keeping Joel Embiid healthy for the playoffs, which likely means a significant change in his game schedule.
In an ESPN interview with Tim Bontemps, Embiid revealed that he doesn’t plan to play back-to-back games anymore. “If I had to guess, I would probably never play back-to-backs the rest of my career,” he said.
While 76ers president Daryl Morey didn’t go that far, he confirmed that both Embiid and Paul George are unlikely to play in many, if any, back-to-backs this season.
Embiid, aiming to stay as healthy as possible, has made lifestyle changes and is laser-focused on winning an NBA title. He’s willing to skip back-to-backs if it helps him achieve that goal, especially given his history of knee issues.
