[Saba Sports News] New Lakers head coach JJ Redick is just weeks away from his first NBA training camp, leading a team anchored by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who spent the summer competing for gold at the Paris Olympics.
On the Spectrum Network Lakeshow Podcast, Redick dismissed concerns about their offseason workload, expressing confidence in their readiness for the season.
“I’m not worried about whether they’ll be ready by Oct. 22,” Redick said. “They’re professionals. We’ll work with Mike and Ish to ensure they’re in a great place to start the season. They’ll be involved in training camp and preseason.”
LeBron and Davis were key players for Team USA, with James leading in assists and Davis excelling defensively. While it’s not ideal for injury-prone stars to skip offseason prep, Redick trusts their professionalism and readiness for camp.
