[Saba Sports News] Tuesday night’s “Jeopardy!” contestants were clearly not the biggest sports aficionados.
During the first round, one of the categories was “21st Century Sports.” All three contestants avoided it until they had no other options, hinting at their lack of sports knowledge.
The $400 clue, about the team that won the 2008 World Series and mentioning Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard, should have been easy for any baseball fan. However, none of the contestants got it right.
The $1,000 clue featured a picture of Russell Westbrook in an Oklahoma City Thunder uniform. Defending champion Adriana Harmeyer, a Purdue professor, guessed “Kevin Durant,” which was at least close.
Fans often mock “Jeopardy!” contestants for their lack of sports knowledge, and this wasn’t the first time sports trivia stumped them. While these contestants would likely excel in academic categories, sports fans watching “Jeopardy!” on Tuesday night had a moment to feel a bit smarter.
