[Saba Sports News] Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown wasn’t named to an All-NBA team this season, but on Thursday, he played like he clearly belonged on one.
Brown led the Celtics to a 126-110 win over the Indiana Pacers, giving them a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. He scored 40 points, including a crucial three-pointer in the final two minutes, energizing the TD Garden crowd.
When asked if his performance was fueled by the All-NBA snub, Brown dismissed the idea. “No, I wouldn’t say that,” he said. “I mean, we’re two games from the Finals. So honestly, I don’t have time to give a f–k.”
Brown shot 14/27 from the field, made four three-pointers, and added five rebounds and two assists. Last season, he was named to the All-NBA 2nd Team after career highs in scoring (26.6), rebounding (6.9), and field goal percentage (49.1%).
However, with the additions of former All-Stars Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, Brown’s numbers have dipped this year.
Focused on winning a championship, Brown is unconcerned with individual accolades. With Thursday’s win, the Celtics are two victories
