[Saba Sports News] Former Pakistan women’s captain, Javeria Khan, has announced her retirement from international cricket, marking the end of her illustrious 15-year career. Across 116 ODIs and 112 T20Is, she amassed 4903 runs, including two centuries and 25 half-centuries. Additionally, the 35-year-old showcased her bowling skills, claiming 28 wickets.
As Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer in limited-overs cricket, Javeria’s participation in four ICC Women’s Cricket World Cups and all eight ICC Women’s T20 World Cups underscores her longevity on the international stage. She captained the side in 17 ODIs and 16 T20Is, expressing gratitude to her teammates, family, and fans for their unwavering support.
In an official statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Javeria expressed her appreciation, stating, “I want to call it a day and announce my retirement, however, I will be available for league cricket. I am grateful to the unwavering support I received throughout my career.”
Tania Mallick, speaking on behalf of the PCB, commended Javeria’s invaluable contributions to women’s cricket in Pakistan, expressing confidence that her remarkable career would inspire future generations. Mallick thanked Javeria for her dedication and wished her success in her future endeavors.
